Why bass boosts distort

How to boost bass without distortion

Bass booster vs a full equalizer

It's worth being clear about what this tool is and isn't. This is a bass booster, not a full graphic equalizer. It does one thing well: a single low-shelf lift below your chosen corner. That focus is why it's fast and hard to misuse.

But a bass booster and equalizer solve different problems. A boost adds low-end energy; it can't cut anything. Troubleshooting

It still distorts even at a low boost. The source was probably already near the ceiling before you touched it — your boost just tipped it over. I can't hear any difference. Check that you're previewing (Play is running) and that Intensity is actually above 0 dB. If it's set correctly and still subtle, you may be on laptop or phone speakers that can't reproduce the range you're boosting — switch to headphones.
