The bass booster adds weight to the low end with a single low-shelf filter: pick how much to boost (up to +15 dB) and the corner frequency where the lift begins (60–120 Hz). A low corner lifts only the deep sub-bass for rumble and power; a higher corner brings up more of the low end for a fuller, warmer body. It's the fast way to give a thin recording more punch or make a track hit harder on headphones and earbuds. The catch is restraint: past roughly +9 dB the low end can turn flabby or push the file toward clipping, so a moderate, clean boost beats a heavy one. The intensity slider goes up to +15 dB, but you rarely want it near the top. A boost of +3 to +6 dB adds noticeable weight without trouble; past about +9 dB you risk overloading the low end, muddying the mix, or pushing the file into clipping on loud passages. If it starts to sound flabby or distorted, back it off — a cleaner moderate boost almost always sounds better than a heavy one.
It sets where the boost begins. A low corner like 60 Hz lifts only the deep sub-bass, adding rumble and power without touching the punch of the kick.
